Guidelines

I. General
     a. Please respect others and be responsible for yourself.
     b. Please watch the vulgar content of your posts. However, this site does have an R rating, so you may see vulgar content from time to time. However, I do not want it to get out of control. If this offends you please contact me.
     c. Players of all skill levels are welcome, but beginners are encouraged to ask questions so they may improve their abilities.
     d. You do not need to be accepted to start playing.
     e. Each player may have ten created characters (dogs born here do not count against your limit).
     f. When joining, consider the following. Only domesticated dogs may be joined. Hybrids may only be joined when you have acquired a level that allows it. (Hybrids = Anything other than a dog crossed with a dog. It must be at least 50% dog. One must state the breed of wild dog and domestic dog that are crossed.) Dogs age 1 and up may be joined. No pregnant dogs or pups may be joined at this time. Also, no duplicate names. Please be sure to check for reserved names, as well as the names of legendary dogs and deceased pack members (these can be found on the history page).
     g. Old players rejoining may not join their old characters or descendants of their old characters without Jess’s permission, due to in character history.
     h. Feel free to ask questions!
     i. Near the end of each month, Jess or Reyne will start two threads on the Office board. One will be titled Character of the Month Nominations and one Member of the Month Nominations. Each member may nominate one candidate for each of these awards. Once the next month begins, Jess and Reyne will deliberate and give out each award as they see fit.

II. Aging
     a. All dogs age one year in the spring.
     b. Ages:
          i. Puppy: 0
          ii. Adolescent: 1
          iii. Mature Dog: 2-9
          iv. Elder: 10+ (unable to fight and breed)
     c. All dogs die by age 13; however, you are encouraged to research the life span of the breeds you play so that you may be able to play them more realistically.

III. Levels
     a. Level One: DEFAULT LEVEL. Upon joining, this is your level. Otherwise, have poor grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Only meets the minimum requirement for post length (50 words) and has little detail. The player only posts one to two times per week. Allowed no alphas or hybrids.
     b. Level Two: Has only a few grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. Has better detail and therefore better length. The player posts three to five times per week, on average. Allowed one alpha and to join one hybrid.
     c. Level Three: Has great grammar, spelling, and punctuation with little to no errors. Has detail and average to above average length in posts. The player posts five to eight times per week, on average. Allowed two alphas and to join one hybrid.
     d. Level Four: Impeccable posts. Have amazing detail, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Posts are usually above the average length. The player posts eight or more times per week, on average. Allowed two alphas and to join two hybrids, as well as pregnant bitches and/or pups.

IV. Pack Life
     a. When claiming a pack you must have a sufficient in character post. (E.g. no posts stating “claim, working on a post)
     b. Alphas have ultimate power within their exhibit.
     c. Pack members must have permission to leave the pack they belong to.
     d. Strays may be taken captive if they roam into an exhibit.
     e. A pack is unchallengeable for one week after it attains a new alpha.

V. Reproduction
     a. Bitches come into heat in the winter. They give birth in the spring.
     b. To breed the two dogs must post their stats on the Reproduction board.
     c. You may role-play out breeding elsewhere on the game if you would like to
     d. The Classifieds is a board for ‘finding pairs.’
     e. Force breeding must be played out IC before posting a breeding pair at the reproduction board.
     f. Only mature dogs may breed. (Two year olds)
     g. Pack members must have an alphas permission to breed, or suffer the consequences. (Alphas should kill litters of pack members that did not attain permission, or give other punishment)
     h. Random pups may end up with complications. Also, please include something to do with how many real-life dogs you own in the 'misc' field when you join so that I know you read the guidlines. Thanks!
     i. Double siring a litter is only allowed with permission from jess.

VI. Challenging
     a. One may challenge for pack rank, mates, pack members, grudges, freedom, life and death, and practice.
     b. Captives may only challenge for their freedom. (Alphas, betas, or gammas in a pack may take this challenge, but it must be by consent within the three ranks.)
     c. Challenges take place within the home of the challenged. The subject of the challenging post must be: Challenging "Name." Strays are always challenged in the picnic area.
     d. Five IC posts per character is the standard fighting form; however, with consent between both players this may be adjusted.
     e. Fights are judged based on realism, attacks, defense, and understandability.
     f. Each player can only be involved in one challenge at a time.
     g. Forfeits occur after a 48-hour period.
